With an international airport and a whole host of major companies operating from the county of Essex, it is fair to say the region is something of a business hotbed.

And the upcoming Business Excellence Awards Essex will shine a light on those who are making a big difference to the local business community.

The night will see people honoured across 16 award categories, with large established companies, right through to those just starting out being recognised.

One of these categories is ‘Supplier of the Year’ which will be presented to a business who provides the highest quality products or service to the events and hospitality industry.

Acting as category sponsors for this award will be Essex based venue, Little Easton Manor. The stunning manor is nestled in 66 acres of stunning Essex countryside and has become a firm favourite among couples looking for a wedding venue. The manor is also regularly used for a number of corporate and business occasions.

As category sponsors it will be their responsibility to assess the nominees and decide on a shortlist of three finalists, as well as choose the eventual winner.

Andy Mahoney is the owner of Little Easton Manor and explained what they will be expecting from this year’s winners.

“We will be looking for a business who is ethical, environmentally sustainable and profitable” he said. “It is also important to have a vision going forward which encompasses these attributes. Success in business comes from knowing your market, having the right attitude and being resilient.”

The awards will take place against the backdrop of Five Lakes resort in Colchester on Thursday 26 September. Hosted by comedian Mark Dolan and famous television personality Denise van Outen, the night will begin with a Champagne reception upon arrival before guests take their seats for a delicious three-course meal.

There will also be the chance to raise money for charity with the Lord’s Taverners on board as charity partners. The UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity are dedicated to giving young people a sporting chance.

A game of stand-up bingo and silent auction will take place with all proceeds going to the charity.

Nominations for this year’s awards are now closed but you can find all you need to know on the dedicated website
